Helen Pardini, 69, from Poughkeepsie, was identified as the woman found deceased on the grounds of the Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park on December 6, 2024.
The body was discovered by a hiker near the Hudson River, south of Bard Rock, an area located on the mansion’s 211-acre property, which is managed by the National Park Service.
Initially treated as a suspicious death, authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of death, and an active investigation is being conducted by the State Police in Rhinebeck and the Hyde Park Police Department.
Pardini’s death has raised concerns in the community, with investigators continuing to search for leads. The Vanderbilt Mansion remains a national historic site, and the investigation is ongoing as law enforcement seeks further information.
