A fatal car accident occurred in Jackson on January 6, when 37-year-old Jimmy Mitchell was killed after a Nissan Sentra ran a red light and collided with a Chevy Camaro.
The incident took place on West Northside Drive at Meadowlane Drive, though the exact time of the crash has not been confirmed.
Following the collision, the Sentra flipped, trapping Mitchell beneath the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene, while the Camaro passenger escaped without injury. The Jackson Police Department is currently investigating the crash.
