Fatal Durham car crash death of John Festa – Obituary
An 86-year-old man, John Festa, from Northford, Connecticut, tragically lost his life on January 6, 2025, following a three-vehicle crash on Route 17 in Durham. The crash occurred when a GMC Sierra, following a Ram 1500 truck, collided with a Lexus GX that was traveling in the opposite direction.
The GMC, attempting to stop, slid on snowy roads and hit the passenger side of the Lexus. Festa, the driver of the Ram, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Middlesex Hospital, where he later died.
The crash, which also involved two other vehicles, left one other person with serious injuries and another with minor injuries. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the crash to come forward.
