The Clark County coroner’s office has identified 29-year-old Navdeep Oberoi as the victim found dead near railroad tracks in Las Vegas last week.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department discovered Oberoi’s body on Thursday after responding to a report of a deceased person near West Owens Avenue and Stocker Street.

According to county spokesperson Stephanie Wheatley, Oberoi succumbed to a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The coroner has classified the death as a homicide.
