Fatal Hudson death of Robert Coons – Obituary
The human remains discovered near Mill Street in Hudson have been identified as those of 63-year-old Robert Coons, a Hudson resident who had been missing since July 2023.
On December 9, a survey crew working in the area reported finding skeletal remains, prompting city police to respond. Initial examinations confirmed the remains were human, but further testing was required for identification.
On January 3, 2025, forensic analysis of a femur bone confirmed the remains belonged to Coons. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt at 325 Columbia Street.
During the months following his disappearance, police conducted extensive multi-agency searches and offered a reward in hopes of finding him.
The investigation into Coons’ disappearance remains ongoing. While the cause of death is currently undetermined, an autopsy revealed no signs of trauma or foul play.
