Amber Arnold, 64, was tragically killed on New Year’s Eve after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Appleway Avenue near Michigan Street in Spokane Valley. The incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m.
According to the Spokane Valley Police Department, the driver, a woman in her 70s, was operating a 2000 Honda passenger car.
She remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities determined that neither speed nor impairment played a role in the crash, and the driver was not charged.
Arnold was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt-force injuries. The medical examiner’s office ruled her death as accidental.
