The Palatka Police Department has provided an update on the investigation into the fatal shooting on Christmas Day that claimed the lives of 17-year-old Dorrion McKinnon and 23-year-old Tyree Gilyard.

The shooting occurred outside the Palatka Daily News building on St. Johns Avenue around 9:40 p.m. on December 25.

Officers arrived to find McKinnon with a rifle and Gilyard with a handgun, both of which were near their bodies. A third individual, 21-year-old Dazial Dennis, was wounded but has since been released from the hospital.

Police have identified multiple persons of interest and are continuing their investigation into the incident. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Lt. Colten Lee or Sgt. David Lazo.
