Fatal Okolona stabbing death of Evelyn Belton – Obituary
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified 43-year-old Evelyn Belton as the victim of a fatal stabbing that occurred in Okolona early Saturday morning.
Louisville Metro Police responded to a call around 2:30 a.m. on the 8000 block of Red Cedar Way, where they found Belton suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Despite efforts to save her, Belton was pronounced dead at the scene. Later that evening, police apprehended 50-year-old Jamie Belton, who was arrested at a rest stop in Midway. He is facing murder charges in connection with the incident.
Court records reveal that the two were married but had been separated. This marks the first homicide in Louisville for 2025.
