Fatal Lubbock shooting death of Jaydon Garcia – Obituary
A Lubbock County grand jury has indicted 24-year-old Sergio Delacerda in connection with the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Jaydon Garcia on December 15, 2024.
Delacerda is facing a murder charge, which could result in a sentence ranging from five years to life in prison. He is currently held at the Lubbock County Detention Center.
The shooting occurred following an argument about family members at a north Lubbock apartment complex, specifically in the 2800 block of Fordham Street, around 3:45 a.m.
Officers who responded to a call about a civil disturbance and shots fired found Garcia with a gunshot wound. He was transported to University Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
Witnesses at the scene identified Delacerda as the shooter, leading to his arrest. The investigation was carried out by the Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit.
