Fatal Springdale pedestrian accident death of John G. Powell – Obituary
John G. Powell, a 56-year-old resident of Springdale, tragically died Thursday evening after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Don Tyson Boulevard near Cambridge Street. The incident occurred around 6 p.m.
According to Sgt. Matt Ray, a spokesman for the Springdale Police Department, Powell was wearing dark clothing when he entered the eastbound traffic lane and was hit by an oncoming vehicle. Although emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital, he sadly succumbed to his injuries.
The driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with law enforcement. Police have not yet released the identity of the driver or detailed the type of vehicle involved. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
