Fatal Charlotte pedestrian accident death of Petrina Ann Williams – Obituar

Petrina Ann Williams, a 48-year-old resident of Charlotte, tragically passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, after being struck by a vehicle on Reagan Drive. The incident occurred around 6:49 a.m. as she attempted to cross the road during dark and rainy conditions.

Officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, along with Charlotte Fire and MEDIC, responded to the scene. Ms. Williams was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the white 2018 Ford Transit, 20-year-old Eliceo Zunun Aguilar, remained on-site and is cooperating with the investigation.

Preliminary findings indicate that the vehicle was traveling west on Reagan Drive toward N. Graham Street when Ms. Williams crossed the road outside of a designated crosswalk.

Speed and impairment do not appear to be factors in the crash, and the Ford’s airbags did not deploy. A toxicology report for Ms. Williams is pending.

The investigation is ongoing, and Ms. Williams’ next of kin has been notified of her tragic passing.
