Fatal Dolomites hiking death of Sam Harris – Obituary
Sam Harris, 35, from London, was found dead during a search operation in the Dolomites, where he had been missing for nearly a week.
Harris and his friend, Aziz Ziriat, 36, were last seen on January 1 near Casina Dosson, a mountain hut close to Tione Di Trento and Riva Del Garda on Lake Garda. The two were reported missing after failing to return home or check in for their flight on January 6.
Rescue teams from Italy’s National Alpine Cliff and Cave Rescue Corps (CNSAS) located Harris’s body buried under snow in the Passo di Conca area. The search was intensified after rescuers tracked one of the hikers’ phones to that region.
Efforts to locate Aziz Ziriat continue as rescue operations remain underway. The tragic discovery marks a somber end to the search for Harris, leaving family and friends mourning his loss.
