Fatal Prince William County car crash death of Thomas Spencer Stark – Obituary
On August 28, 2024, a tragic collision in Nokesville, Virginia, claimed the life of 63-year-old Thomas Spencer Stark. The Prince William County Police Department reported that officers responded to the accident around 6:25 p.m. near Bristow Road and Windy Hill Drive.
Investigations revealed that James Francis Byrd, 62, of Woodbridge, was driving a Toyota Tundra eastbound when he crossed the center line and collided with Stark’s Lexus, which was traveling in the opposite direction.
The impact caused the Lexus to veer off the road, landing in a ditch. Stark was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Byrd sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital. Following the crash, authorities conducted tests and found his blood alcohol content (BAC) exceeded the legal limit.
After a thorough investigation, an arrest warrant was issued in December. On January 8, officers arrested Byrd on charges including involuntary manslaughter and DUI.
Byrd is currently being held without bond as the case proceeds.
