Fatal Riverside County motorcycle crash death of Timothy Corlew – Obituary
Deputy Timothy Corlew, a member of the Riverside County Sheriff’s motor team, tragically lost his life in an on-duty crash on Wednesday morning.
The collision, involving Corlew’s patrol motorcycle and an SUV, occurred around 5:30 a.m. on the Riverside Freeway near La Sierra Avenue in Riverside.
According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officer Javier Navarro, the crash appeared to be accidental, and their Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team is continuing to gather information. Witnesses reported that Corlew’s motorcycle collided with a dark-colored SUV, but further details have not been confirmed.
Corlew was transported to Riverside Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. No information regarding the other driver has been released, and no arrests have been made. Authorities currently believe criminal charges are unlikely.
Corlew had served with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office since 2016. He is survived by his wife and two children, who are now mourning his sudden loss.
