Travis Dozler dies in fatal Mound City truck accident
Fatal Mound City truck accident death of Travis Dozler – Obituary
Travis Dozler, 33, of Neligh, Nebraska, tragically lost his life on Saturday when a runaway semi-truck struck him in Mound City, Missouri. The incident occurred around 12:40 p.m. near the intersection of northbound I-29 and Missouri Highway 118.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the truck, a 1999 Peterbilt, had been parked on the east shoulder of the interstate but was left unattended. Winter weather caused the vehicle to slide down a hill, becoming a runaway truck. Dozler, who was walking in the area, was hit and pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck’s trailer also collided with a light pole as it ran off the east side of the interstate. Investigators are continuing to examine the events surrounding the tragic accident.
