A tragic accident in central Bengaluru claimed the life of 29-year-old Bhushan Patil on Monday evening.
Patil, who was crossing GT Road in the Cottonpet area, was struck by a speeding Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus around 7:15 p.m.
The driver, identified as P Adinarayana, failed to notice Patil while entering a bus stand, resulting in a collision that caused severe head injuries and fractures in both of Patil’s arms. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The driver was arrested and charged under Section 106 of the Indian Penal Code for negligence causing death. Police are still investigating why Patil was in Bengaluru at the time of the incident.
