Dennie Ralph Wilson, a 66-year-old man from Spartanburg, was fatally injured Wednesday morning after being struck by an SUV while attempting to cross Highway 9 near Sojourners Way, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred around 6:43 a.m. Wilson was transported to a nearby hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. Authorities have not disclosed details about the SUV driver involved in the collision.
The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified Wilson as the deceased victim. An investigation into the circumstances of the crash remains ongoing.
