Harold Partridge, an 88-year-old resident of Sweet Home, was discovered dead following a single-vehicle accident on Pleasant Valley Road Monday afternoon. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies arrived at the scene shortly before 2 p.m.
Partridge was found inside his 2015 Volkswagen Golf, which had veered approximately 125 feet off the road. Authorities concluded that he had been driving southbound when the vehicle crossed into the opposite lane, entered a ditch, broke through a fence, and eventually stopped in a nearby yard.
Despite no apparent external injuries, officials highlighted that Partridge had a known history of medical conditions. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to establish the exact cause of the incident.
