James Gregory Nickaboine dies in fatal Crow Wing County car crash

Fatal Crow Wing County car crash death of James Gregory Nickaboine – Obituary

James Gregory Nickaboine, a 60-year-old man from Onamia, tragically lost his life on Sunday, December 29, following a single-vehicle accident on County Highway 23 in Crow Wing County. The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. in Maple Grove Township, southeast of Brainerd, according to the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office.

 

Deputies arrived at the scene to find that a Ford Ranger heading south had veered off the roadway and ended up in a ditch near the 8000 block of County Highway 23. Emergency responders confirmed that Nickaboine, the vehicle’s occupant, was deceased at the scene.

 

His body was sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. Both the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol are actively investigating the cause of the crash. Assistance at the scene was provided by the Minnesota State Patrol, North Memorial Health Ambulance, Garrison Fire Department, and Lakes Area Rescue.
