Fatal Mooretown neighborhood house fire death of Kandis Hammond – Obituary
Kandis Hammond, 56, tragically lost her life in a house fire early Tuesday morning in the 5200 block of Norton Street in Shreveport’s Mooretown neighborhood. She was rushed to Ochsner LSU Health hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after being rescued by firefighters.
The fire broke out before 8 a.m., and Hammond was discovered near the back door of her home. Unfortunately, a pet dog also perished in the blaze.
The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office confirmed Hammond’s death, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
