Fatal Augusta shooting death of Quincy Clay Fields – Obituary

A tragic shooting occurred Wednesday afternoon outside the Richmond Summit apartments in downtown Augusta, resulting in the death of 41-year-old Quincy Clay Fields. The incident marks the second confirmed homicide in Richmond County this year.

At 3:23 p.m., deputies responded to reports of gunshots in the 700 block of Broad Street. Upon arrival, they found Fields with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries, according to Coroner Mark Bowen.
