Fatal Campbellsburg Dollar General parking lot death of Rebecca Skeen – Obituary

Rebecca Skeen, a 56-year-old preschool teacher described as a cherished member of her community, was found dead on Wednesday, January 8, in the parking lot of a Dollar General in Campbellsburg, Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police responded to reports of an unresponsive woman, and upon arrival, they discovered Skeen lying in the lot. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not determined the cause of death, and the investigation is ongoing. Skeen worked at the Butterfly Garden Academy as a pre-K teacher, where her dedication to children and the community earned her widespread admiration.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, the academy praised her impact, saying, “Becky has been a staple in this community for decades, and her absence will be felt by all.”

Many locals shared personal memories of Skeen, reflecting on her kindness, bright smile, and deep love for her family and students.
