Fatal Lincoln Park shooting death of David Solis – Obituary

David Solis, a 19-year-old resident of Tijuana, Mexico, was fatally shot over the weekend in San Diego’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Authorities responded to a report of gunfire Sunday morning near the 300 block of Willie James Jones Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered Solis lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

 

The San Diego Police Department revealed that before the shooting, two individuals were spray-painting gang-related graffiti on a wall in the same area. An altercation reportedly ensued between Solis and the men, during which he was shot.

 

On Tuesday evening, police arrested 21-year-old Edwin Aguayo, identified as one of the suspects, near Interstate 5 and Del Mar Heights Road. Authorities are continuing their search for a second suspect involved in the incident.
