Fatal Aiken County crash death of Sylvia Simpkins – Obituary

Authorities have identified 72-year-old Sylvia Simpkins as the victim of a deadly two-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday in Aiken County, South Carolina.

According to officials, Simpkins was driving a 1991 Chevrolet Camaro northbound on Silver Bluff Road when her vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound utility truck at around 11:46 a.m.

Following the crash, she was transported to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries at 12:42 p.m.

Both the Aiken County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are conducting an investigation into the fatal collision.
