Joshua Ponte dies in fatal Seekonk highway crash

Fatal Seekonk highway accident claims the life of 37-year-old Joshua Ponte – Obituary

Joshua Ponte, 37, of Fall River, tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle crash on I-195 east in Seekonk, Massachusetts, on January 23, 2025.

The accident occurred around 5 p.m. near mile marker 1.4, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.

Massachusetts state troopers responding to the scene found a black GMC pickup truck engulfed in flames behind a guardrail. The vehicle had collided with a bridge support pillar on the median side of the highway. Ponte was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
