Jerod and Jerel Wert die in fatal Arlington Memorial Bridge truck crash

Fatal Arlington Memorial Bridge truck crash deaths of Jerod and Jerel Wert – Obituary

Twin brothers Jerod Wert and Jerel Wert, both 52 and residents of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, were killed in a tragic accident on January 16, 2025. The crash occurred when their truck went off the Arlington Memorial Bridge and into the Potomac River following a collision.

 

Emergency responders managed to recover one of the brothers from the water immediately, but he later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The other brother’s body was retrieved two days later.

 

The community has been deeply affected by their sudden loss, and a Memorial Mass has been scheduled for January 29, 2025, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in North Beach, Maryland. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding th e crash.
