Fatal Mexia shooting death of Larry Mitchel – Obituary
Larry Mitchel, a 34-year-old man from Mexia, was fatally shot early Saturday morning in the 700 block of East Liberty Street.
Mexia police responded to reports of gunshots around 6:31 a.m. and found Mitchel unresponsive with gunshot wounds in a front yard.
Despite attempts by emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are actively investigating the case, following up on leads, but no arrests have been made.
Police believe the incident was not random and are interviewing individuals connected to the case. The public is not considered to be at risk.
