Fatal Jefferson County car crash death of Brandon Pitri – Obituary
Brandon Pitri, a 40-year-old resident of Magnolia, lost his life in a tragic accident late Tuesday morning in Jefferson County. The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that Pitri was driving a wrecker truck when he collided with the rear of a garbage truck on Highway 90, just outside Beaumont.
Authorities reported that the crash happened shortly before noon. The garbage truck had been traveling eastbound, followed by Pitri’s rollback wrecker, which was carrying an SUV and towing another vehicle. Troopers determined that Pitri was unable to control his speed, resulting in the fatal impact.
Emergency responders pronounced Pitri dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the garbage truck’s driver and passenger sustained minor injuries and were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
A Justice of the Peace has ordered an autopsy to be performed on Pitri’s body as part of the investigation. Officials continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
