Fatal Evansville crash death of Haley Crumb and Brent McKinney – Obituary

Authorities in Evansville have identified 24-year-old Haley Crumb and 24-year-old Brent McKinney as the victims of a deadly crash on Tuesday. The accident occurred near the intersection of U.S. 41 and St. George Road after the SUV they were in fled a traffic stop.

According to the Evansville Police Department, officers initially pulled over the SUV at a Circle K gas station on U.S. 41 near Lynch Road just before 3 p.m. However, the driver quickly took off, heading north on U.S. 41. Officers did not pursue but continued north to observe the situation.

Roughly a mile from the initial stop, the SUV collided with a tractor-trailer that was turning east onto St. George Road. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but both Crumb and McKinney were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unharmed.

Investigators have not yet revealed the reason for the initial traffic stop or who was driving the SUV. While examining the crash site, a witness reported finding a firearm nearby, which authorities have taken as evidence for further analysis.

The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing as officials work to determine additional details.
