Fatal Henrico shooting/car crash death of Silvio Sobrinho – Obituary

Late Friday night on I-295 South near Pocahontas Parkway in Henrico County, Virginia, 58-year-old Silvio Sobrinho was fatally injured in a collision involving two tractor-trailers. According to Virginia State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on January 31 when Sobrinho’s tractor-trailer, traveling in the left lane, was struck by another tractor-trailer coming from the center lane.

The impact forced Sobrinho’s vehicle off the road, where it collided with a metal guardrail. Witnesses later reported that the driver of the other truck, described as a white vehicle with green lettering, approached the scene and discharged several rounds into Sobrinho’s vehicle, inflicting multiple bullet wounds on the passenger side. A nearby witness discovered Sobrinho slumped over the steering wheel, and despite efforts by a trooper who performed CPR, emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead.

The Virginia State Police have launched an active investigation into the events leading to this tragic outcome and are calling on anyone with additional information to come forward.
