Fatal Columbus shooting death of Gary Lyons – Obituary
Gary Lyons, 29, was fatally shot on January 31 in a residence on Baxter Drive in Columbus, according to police.
Authorities responded to the 1500 block of Baxter Drive around 7:15 p.m. after receiving a report of a domestic situation. Before officers arrived, the call was updated to a shooting.
Lyons was discovered with a gunshot wound and transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at 8:06 p.m.
Investigators stated that the shooting involved a couple and their adult son. The couple was detained for questioning, and police are investigating the case as a possible act of self-defense.
