Sampada Aduulla, a 24-year-old woman from Lake Grove, New York, was struck and killed by a vehicle on Saturday morning while attempting to cross Nesconset Highway near Hallock Road. The incident occurred around 6:20 a.m., and the vehicle involved fled the scene.
Authorities closed the intersection between Hallock Road and East Moriches Road for several hours as they gathered evidence.
