On February 2, 2025, Cody A. Dorn, a 21-year-old Menards employee, tragically passed away after being pinned by a car in the store’s parking lot.
Dorn, who was unloading his own vehicle, was struck by a car driven by a fellow Menards employee. Despite efforts to assist him, Dorn died from the injuries sustained in the accident.
Dorn’s family expressed their grief through a statement, describing him as a “hardworking, give you the shirt off his back kind of kid.”
He graduated from Burlington High School in 2022, and while working at Menards, he also attended WCTC, where he maintained a 4.0 GPA and earned an associate’s degree in accounting.
Dorn enjoyed playing video games and spending time with his girlfriend during his free time.
He is deeply missed by his family and friends. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
