Fatal Mesa, Arizona car crash death of Damarya Zyberi – Obituary

A tragic accident in Mesa on Monday morning claimed the lives of two adults and a child after a stolen truck was involved in a head-on collision.

Authorities reported that just before 8 a.m., a Ford F250 was stolen in Gilbert. The same vehicle was later involved in a crash near Val Vista Drive and Southern Avenue.

Investigators determined that the stolen truck, traveling north on Val Vista Drive, veered left of the center line and collided head-on with a Nissan Armada. A third vehicle was also impacted in the crash.

The driver of the stolen truck, identified as 29-year-old Damarya Zyberi, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan Armada, 42-year-old Troy Garlock, also died at the site of the crash. Two children who were in the back seat of the Armada were transported to the hospital. Sadly, an 8-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries, while a 6-year-old girl remains in the hospital.

The driver of the third vehicle sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

Officials believe that excessive speed played a role in the accident.

Troy Garlock’s sister-in-law, Tiffany Garlock, shared that he was a devoted father and stepfather who loved spending time with his children. He had recently visited some of them in Utah to watch their sports activities and enjoyed building obstacle courses for them. The family had just begun constructing their dream home in Heber, where they had recently acquired land and farm animals.

Elsie, the young girl who passed away, was described as a lively and talented dancer who was full of energy and joy.
