Authorities have confirmed the identity of the driver killed in a crash on U.S. Highway 151 near Mile Marker 39 on Friday, February 7, 2025. The victim, 32-year-old Anthony Wendt of Platteville, was ejected from his vehicle after it veered off the road and collided with a rock wall. Emergency responders were unable to save him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple 911 calls at around 4:54 p.m. on Friday. This incident marks the county’s second fatal crash of the year. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
