The victim of a fatal shooting in Muncie on Friday, February 8, 2025, has been identified as 20-year-old DeJay DayQuan Kidd from Minnesota.
Kidd was shot at a home in the 2100 block of South Elm Street at approximately 1:20 p.m. and was later pronounced dead at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. The Delaware County Coroner confirmed an autopsy was performed on Saturday.
A 17-year-old Muncie youth was arrested at the scene and is currently being held at the Delaware County Juvenile Detention Center.
The investigation into the circumstances of the shooting is still ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward. This marks Muncie’s second homicide within two days.
