Fatal Tucson motorcycle crash death of Nicholas G. Jeffers – Obituary

Authorities have identified 69-year-old Nicholas G. Jeffers as the motorcyclist who lost his life in a crash on Friday, February 7, in Tucson.

The incident occurred in the 3900 block of East Golf Links Road. Investigators determined that Jeffers was riding his motorcycle westbound when he attempted to exit onto the Aviation Highway/Alvernon Way on-ramp. At that moment, he crashed into the rear of a 2013 Volkswagen Passat, which was stopped in the gore area between the two on-ramps.

Emergency responders transported Jeffers to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police confirmed that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Volkswagen, an 81-year-old man, was not injured. Authorities ruled out impairment and issued him a citation for stopping in the gore area.

The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine all contributing factors in the fatal accident.
