Fatal Greater Cincinnati shooting death of Shawn Egner – Obituary
A shooting early Tuesday morning in Hamilton, Ohio, claimed the life of 33-year-old Shawn Egner, according to the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire at a home on Clovernook Drive around 5:45 a.m. One neighbor told dispatchers they heard between three to five shots coming from the residence.
Another 911 caller, who claimed to be the shooter, alleged that Egner attempted to attack him first. The caller also stated he did not live at the home and suggested he had been lured there by a woman.
Shawn Calhoun, a nearby resident, voiced concerns over safety in the neighborhood, noting that this was the second shooting at that particular house. Fearing for his family’s well-being, he said he plans to move.
Hamilton police have not confirmed whether the man who admitted to the shooting is in custody but stated they are not actively searching for additional suspects. The investigation remains ongoing.
