Fatal Pequea Creek death of Charles Duroni – Obituary
Authorities have identified 54-year-old Charles Duroni of West Lampeter Township as the man found dead in Pequea Creek on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office, first responders were called to the scene around 1 p.m. after reports of a person discovered in shallow water near the border of Conestoga and Martic townships. Emergency crews removed Duroni from the water and attempted resuscitation, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday to determine the cause of death. Duroni’s family has not provided any comments at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
