Fatal Peoria pedestrian accident death of David Johnson – Obituary
David Johnson, a 66-year-old resident of North Hightower Street in Peoria, died after being struck by a vehicle on February 6 in the 3400 block of North University Street.
Peoria police responded to the scene around 5:45 p.m. and found Johnson in critical condition. A damaged wheelchair was also observed nearby. Emergency crews transported him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:48 p.m. due to multiple blunt-force injuries, according to the Peoria County Coroner’s Office.
The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and told police he did not see Johnson in time to avoid the collision. Authorities have not issued any citations or made any arrests as the investigation continues.
