Fatal Petersburg shooting death of Grant Withers – Obituary
Grant Withers, 15, of Petersburg, passed away on February 4, 2025, from gunshot wounds sustained in a double shooting on February 1.
He and his father, Richard Withers, 40, were both shot at their home in the 15000 block of Tice Road in Menard County.
Richard was pronounced dead on February 2, while Grant succumbed to his injuries on February 4. The Illinois State Police and Sangamon County Coroner’s Office are investigating the incident.
