Fatal Douglas County shooting death of Jalin Seabron – Obituary
A deputy-involved shooting in Douglas County late Saturday night resulted in the death of 23-year-old Jalin Seabron. The incident unfolded outside the Main Event entertainment center following an earlier shooting inside the venue that left a woman wounded.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Main Event on Centennial Boulevard just before midnight after reports of an active shooter situation. Upon arrival, a deputy encountered Seabron in the parking lot, armed with a firearm. After repeated commands to drop the weapon were ignored, the deputy fired, fatally striking Seabron. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Inside the establishment, deputies found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. She was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive. Authorities arrested 23-year-old Nevaeha Crowley-Sanders of Denver, identifying her as the suspected shooter. She was booked into the Douglas County Jail on charges of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault.
Investigators are still working to determine Seabron’s connection to the shooting inside the entertainment center. Sheriff Darren Weekly confirmed there was a likely link but stated the specifics remain under investigation.
The 23rd Judicial District Critical Incident Team is reviewing the deputy-involved shooting, and the deputy has been placed on paid administrative leave per standard procedure. Officials reassured the public that there is no ongoing threat and urged patience as the investigation continues. Witnesses are encouraged to come forward with any additional information.
