Authorities have identified the man found deceased near Highway 3 in Bremerton on Friday as 37-year-old Jeffrey Byler. The Kitsap County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed his identity but has not yet determined the official cause and manner of death, pending toxicology results.
Investigators do not suspect foul play, and the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office has stated that Byler’s remains were moved to the location after his death. A witness discovered the body in an old quarry along the highway and contacted emergency services around 11:30 a.m.
Law enforcement officials do not believe the case involves homicide or violence and have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat. The investigation remains ongoing.
