A 26-year-old woman from Des Moines, identified as Kayla Breanne Frommelt, tragically lost her life in a single-vehicle crash that took place on Highway 141 early Sunday morning. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene near the 12100 block of Highway 141 around 9 a.m., where they discovered a vehicle that had veered off the road, entered the west ditch, and struck a tree.
The sheriff’s office reports that evidence gathered suggests the vehicle was heading southbound when the driver lost control and crashed into the tree.
Kayla, who was the only occupant in the car, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
