The Lake County Coroner has identified Tavontee Fox, a 24-year-old from Waukegan, as the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred in Beach Park on Sunday afternoon. Fox was wounded in the attack, which also caused gunfire to strike a vehicle and a home in the area.
Authorities responded to the scene at the 39300 block of Melbourne Court after reports of multiple shots being fired. Fox, a passenger in the car, was later driven to a hospital in Waukegan, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries. Investigations into the incident are ongoing. No one inside the home that was hit by gunfire was injured.
