Eric Burns dies in fatal crash on Galena Bridge in Reno
Fatal Reno crash death of Eric Burns – Obituary
Eric Burns, a 38-year-old resident of Carson City, tragically died on Friday morning following a crash on Galena Bridge on I-580. Nevada State Police identified Burns as the driver of a Subaru that collided with the back of a Truckee Meadows Fire Rescue (TMFR) fire engine.
The fire engine had been blocking one lane due to a prior incident.
First responders quickly extricated Burns from his vehicle and rushed him to the hospital. Despite their efforts, he was later pronounced dead from the injuries sustained in the crash. No first responders were injured. The incident led to a closure of I-580 northbound, with traffic diverted to U.S. 395.
