Authorities have released the identity of the man who was fatally struck by a truck in Fresno County on Monday night.
The incident took place around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Clinton and Barton.
According to the California Highway Patrol, 58-year-old William Hanson attempted to run across the roadway when an eastbound truck approached. The driver tried to swerve to avoid him but was unable to prevent the collision.
Hanson was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Officials report that the driver of the truck is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
