A tragic accident on Interstate 95 in Kittery, Maine, claimed the life of 64-year-old Linda Huelsman, a nurse from Kennebunk, as she was on her way to work at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
According to Maine State Police, the collision occurred when a northbound tractor-trailer lost control, veered through the guardrail, and struck two vehicles traveling southbound. Huelsman was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 55-year-old man from Kittery succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The driver of the truck is expected to survive.
Authorities believe weather conditions played a role in the crash, as roads were slick, and the speed limit had been reduced to 45 miles per hour at the time.
