Jalen Bryce Herndon dies in fatal San Antonio hit-and-run
Fatal San Antonio hit-and-run death of Jalen Bryce Herndon – Obituary
Jalen Bryce Herndon, 25, lost his life earlier this week after being struck by a vehicle on the lower level of Interstate 35 near downtown San Antonio.
Authorities say Herndon was running northeast across the main lanes of I-35 southbound when a red 2018 Freightliner hit him. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Bexar County Medical Examiner determined his cause of death was blunt force injuries, ruling it an accident.
The driver of the Freightliner, identified as 64-year-old Victor Miranda-Baltazar, fled the scene but was later located several miles away. He was taken into custody and charged with collision involving death. Investigators confirmed he was not under the influence at the time of the crash.
The San Antonio Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
