Authorities have identified 32-year-old Jessie Van Der Draay as the victim of a deadly e-scooter collision that occurred Friday evening at the intersection of the Great Western Highway and Lee Street in Lithgow, New South Wales.
According to police reports, Van Der Draay was riding an e-scooter around 5:10 p.m. when she collided with an Isuzu ute. Bystanders attempted to provide aid until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived, but despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the ute, a 44-year-old man, was taken to Lithgow Hospital for mandatory testing as authorities continue their investigation. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
Van Der Draay’s fiancée, Kayla Bunting, shared an emotional tribute, describing her as a devoted stepmother and a woman of many skills who was always willing to lend a hand. Friends and family have launched a GoFundMe campaign to support funeral expenses and honor her memory.
